Yes, you can withdraw cash from an ATM in New Zealand or overseas.

Please note:

  • You’ll need to use an ATM that has the Visa logo, or
  • A hotel or financial institution (such as a bank) that allows these transactions on a Visa card
  • If you withdraw cash, you’ll be charged interest immediately from the date you withdraw that cash.  You’ll continue to be charged interest on that cash withdrawal, as well as all purchases, until you’ve repaid it in full
  • If you withdraw cash while overseas, you’ll be charged additional fees.

Yes, you can make:

  • 3 withdrawals up to a total of $800 in any one day, or
  • a total of $1,500 in 3 days, or
  • a total of $2,500 in one week.

However, some ATMs or financial institutions may have their own limits on the amount of cash you can withdraw, so it could be less.

If you withdraw cash, you’ll be charged interest immediately from the date you withdraw that cash. You’ll continue to be charged interest on that cash withdrawal, until you’ve repaid it in full.

When you withdraw cash using your credit card, we’ll charge you the following fees:

  •  A Cash advance fee, and
  • An Overseas Currency Conversion Fee (if your Cash Advance was in a foreign currency), and
  • An ATM ownership fee if that is charged by the provider of the ATM network.

If you withdraw cash, you’ll be charged interest immediately from the date you withdraw that cash. You’ll continue to be charged interest on that cash withdrawal, until you’ve repaid it in full.
