The 12 Month Interest Free promotion is valid till 30 June 2023.  Prevailing purchase interest rate (which can be found on the Rates and Fees page) will apply to any outstanding balance on the expiry of the 12 Months Interest Free Term. Minimum monthly repayments must be made during the 12 Month Interest Free Term.

  1. The Promotion
    a.       The Promotion is valid from 12.01am Thursday 1st July 2021 until 11.59pm Friday 30th June 2023 (the “Promotional Period”).
    b.       During the Promotional Period, a 12 Month Interest Free Term will be automatically applied to any Qualifying Purchase (refer to clause 1.c below) totalling $250 or more on a single Visa transaction using your Purple Visa Card, either in-store or online at The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, Torpedo7. TheMarket and 1-day.co.nz (a “Participating Retailer“) (the “Promotion”).
    c.       A “Qualifying Purchase” is any transaction other than a Cash Advance, Balance Transfer, loan repayment, credit card repayment, purple dollar redemption, insurance payment, fees and interest payment, purchase refund or any charges or purchases that are under dispute or are fraudulent.
    d.       The Promotion is open to all new and existing Purple Visa Card Accounts for both Main Cardholders and Additional Cardholders.
    e.       If you make a Qualifying Purchase under this Promotion, we’ll send you a Purchase Confirmation email notifying you of the 12 Months Interest Free Term. You will also see the details of your 12 Months Interest Free Term set out on your monthly statement. It is your responsibility to ensure that the contact details on your Card Account are correct and/or notify us of any changes, to ensure you receive these notifications.
  2. Purple Dollars
    a.       Notwithstanding the Purple Visa Card Terms and Conditions, this Promotion enables you to redeem Purple Dollars on your Qualifying Purchase even though it is subject to a 12 Month Interest Free Term. To find out more about how you can redeem Purple Dollars against your Qualifying Purchase, see paragraph 73 of the Purple Visa Card Terms and Conditions available at purplevisa.co.nz/support/card-terms-fees.
    b.       If you choose to redeem Purple Dollars on your Qualifying Purchase, your Purple Dollars will be credited against your Qualifying Purchase. This may result in you repaying your Qualifying Purchase earlier and you will receive the benefit of the full 12 Month Interest Free Term.
    c.       Purple Dollars can be earned on a Qualifying Purchase.
    d.       If you do not want the Promotion to apply to your Qualifying Purchase, call us within 30 days of the purchase date on 0800 801 808 and we’ll revert it back to a standard Visa transaction and the 12 Month Interest Free Term will not apply.
  3. Refunds
    a.       If you request a purchase refund for your Qualifying Purchase, the refund may be applied to your most recent purchase from that same Participating Retailer on your Card Account (Recent Purchase). If your Recent Purchase is:
    i.      a standard Visa transaction then we may adjust the Purple Dollars you have earned on your Recent Purchase in accordance with clause 71 of the Purple Visa Card Terms and Conditions.
    ii.      a Qualifying Purchase under this Promotion, this may result in you repaying your Recent Purchase earlier and you will not receive the benefit of the full 12 Month Interest Free Term.
    b.       Retain the invoice or receipt provided by the Participating Retailer as proof of purchase. The Purchase Confirmation we send to you notifying you of the 12 Month Interest Free Term is not a receipt for your purchase.
  4. Repayments
    a.       3% of the outstanding balance or $20, whichever is greater must be made during the 12 Month Interest Free Term. You’ll receive a statement each month, advising you of the total amount owing on your account, the minimum payment amount you need to pay and the optional payment to minimise interest charges.
    b.       Prevailing interest rates applies to any outstanding balance on the expiry of the 12 Month Interest Free Term.
  5. General Terms
    a.       The Promotion does not apply to Long-Term Interest Free finance available at Participating Retailers.
    b.       If for any reason SBS Money Limited are unable to run the Promotion as planned, they reserves the right (in their sole discretion) to extend, postpone, amend, reschedule or cancel the Promotion at any time on the provision of reasonable notice, which shall include posting notice of the change on www.purplevisa.co.nz/deals
    c.       SBS Money Limited and any other agencies associated with this Promotion will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which may be sustained, directly or indirectly by any cardholder in connection with this Promotion, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
    d.       Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of these and any other applicable Terms and Conditions. Purple Visa Card Terms and Conditions apply to this Promotion and can be found at purplevisa.co.nz/support/card-terms-fees.
  6. .  Any capitalised terms used in these terms and conditions but not defined shall have their meaning in the Purple Visa Card Terms and Conditions.

During the Promotional Period (Thursday 1st July 2021 to Friday 30th June 2023) , a 12 Month Interest Free Term will be automatically applied to any purchases totalling $250 or more on a single Visa transaction when you use your Purple Visa Card, either in-store or online at The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, Torpedo7, TheMarket or 1-day.co.nz.

If you make a purchase totalling $250 or more on a single Visa Transaction at The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, Torpedo7, TheMarket or 1-day.co.nz we’ll send you a Purchase Confirmation email notifying you of the 12 Month Interest Free Term. You’ll also see it on your monthly statement.
Yes – notwithstanding the Purple Visa Card Terms and Conditions, if you have an available Purple Dollar balance, this Promotion enables you to redeem them after completing your purchase. Yes – if your purchase qualifies for the 12 Months Interest Free Term under the promotion, you’ll earn Purple Dollars on your purchase.

This could be due to a number of reasons:

  • Did your purchase meet the promotion criteria?
    Note:  refer to the FAQ section “How do I get a 12 Months Interest Free Term automatically applied to my purchase?”
  • Did you make your purchase more than two days ago?
    Note: It may take a couple of days for the purchase to be processed in our system (for example, if you made the purchase over the weekend or on a public holiday).  Depending on when the Transaction settles, that’s when you’ll receive the Purchase Confirmation email.
  • Have you checked your junk folder in your email account?
  • Is the email address we have on file for you correct?
    Note: Log into WM Connect to see what email address we have on file for you. If it’s incorrect, please send us a secure message through WM Connect or call us on 0800 801 808.

If you’ve answered yes to all of the above, then please call us on 0800 801 808 and we’ll look into this for you.

This could be due to a number of reasons:

  • You don’t have a sufficient Credit Limit on your Card Account; 
  • The purchase would take your Card Account balance over your Credit Limit;
  • Your card has been reported as lost or stolen;
  • Your card has expired; or
  • Your account is overdue, blocked or overlimit.

If you don’t want a 12 Months Interest Free Term applied to your purchase totalling $250 or more made at The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, Torpedo7, TheMarket or 1-day.co.nz, please call us within 30 days from your purchase date on 0800 801 808 and we’ll revert it back to a standard Visa transaction.

Think of it this way – one is automatically applied (12 Months Interest Free Promotion), and the other you have to apply for at a Participating Retailer (Long-Term interest Free).

  • 12 Months Interest Free Promotion:
    • You will need your Purple Visa Card to complete the transaction
    • A 12 Month Interest Free Term will automatically be applied to any purchases totalling $250 or more on one Visa transaction when you use your Purple Visa Card, either in-store or online at The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming, Torpedo7, TheMarket or 1-day.co.nz.
  • Long-term Interest Free Finance
    • You don’t need your Purple Visa Card to apply for the Participating Retailer’s advertised Long Term Interest Free Finance offer.(Especially if you’ve just applied for Purple Visa Card and it hasn’t arrived.)
    • Look out for an Interest Free Term (example: 12, 16, 24 or 30 Months) advertised at Participating Retailers. If you have available credit on your Card Account, you can request to have the advertised Interest Free term applied to your purchase (as long as you meet all the criteria). For both offers, minimum monthly repayments are required during the Interest Free Term and the Prevailing Interest Rate will apply to any outstanding balance on the expiry of the Interest Free Term.

If you request a refund for an item that you purchased with a 12 Months Interest Free Term under this promotion, the refund may be applied to your most recent purchase from that same Participating Retailer. If your most recent purchase:

  • has a 12 Month Interest Free Term under this promotion, this may result in you repaying your recent purchase earlier and you will not receive the benefit of the full 12 Months Interest Free Term.

Each month, we’ll provide a statement advising of the total amount owing on your Card Account, the minimum repayment that you need to pay and the optional payment to minimise interest charges.  The Main Cardholder will need to pay us the Minimum Amount Due set out in the monthly statement.  We’ve outlined the general rule we follow when applying repayments to your Card Account, on our website.
